About the role
Aga Khan University seeks a full-time Paediatric Nephrologist faculty member in Nairobi. The role combines inpatient and outpatient paediatric nephrology care, ward rounds, clinics, on-call services, emergency procedures, referral management, patient education, teaching and supervision of clinical staff, research collaboration, and quality improvement. Requirements include MMed in Paediatrics, MBChB or equivalent, certified nephrology training, EPALS certification, and registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
Key requirements
- • Hold a Master of Medicine (MMed) in Paediatrics; possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or an equivalent qualification; have certified and verifiable training in Nephrology from a recognized university.
- • Required skills: Clinical examination and patient management, Diagnosis and treatment of paediatric patients, Ward rounds and patient monitoring, Participation in paediatric clinics and on-call services, Emergency medical procedures, Referral case planning, Patient wellness and prevention education, Treatment planning for specialized cases, Teaching and supervision of residents and clinical staff, Clinical research collaboration, Institutional quality improvement, Hospital equipment handling, Communication and interpersonal skills, Ethical and compassionate clinical practice
- • Required certifications: Certified and verifiable training in Nephrology from a recognized university, Emergency Paediatric Life Support (EPALS) certification
